British Singer and composer famous for his collaborations with the likes of Beyoncé, Drake, Kanye West, Frank Ocean, Solange, SBTRKT, Jessie Ware and Katy B. Winner of the prestigious Mercury Prize for his 2017 debut album “Process”, while the list of his competitors included Ed Sheeran. The Guardian wrote about him that “he was given honeyed, mournful vocals”. Sampha Sisay was born in London in 1988 as the youngest of five brothers in a family of immigrants from Sierra Leone. After his father had decided to buy a piano, young Sampha quickly mastered the instrument and took his first steps towards music production with the use of a computer. He made his debut in 2010 on the influential Young Turks record label. It didn’t take him too long to prove that he is a talented singer and composer, and soon enough he was showered with collaboration proposals from mainstream stars. After years dedicated to supporting big names, in 2017 Sampha finally released his long-awaited debut album “Process”. Just as in his previous records, Sampha charms the audience with impressive vocal capabilities, modern production techniques, spiritual approach to R&B and toned-down soul mysticism.
